Preparations

Last spring, when I was applying for the Comparative Education in Namibia program, seems like just yesterday. When I submitted my application it seemed like a long shot. I wasn't sure whether I would be accepted or whether I would be able to come up with the money for the program cost. Now all of a sudden, I am leaving in less than a week...six days to be exact. I will be living and teaching in Windhoek, Namibia for the next two months.

It seems as though I have so much to do before I leave. I feel like Santa Clause, making my lists and checking them twice to make sure that I am not forgetting anything that is too important (those of you who know me, know that I tend to accidentally leave things behind frequently). The bed in our guest room is piled with school supplies and clothing that I am trying to fit into two bags weighing 50 lbs or less. Other than that, I still have a little bit of shopping to do between now and Friday when I take off.
